Dr Patrick Tai graduated from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (Honours) in 2009, and completed his specialist training in General Practice in 2014.
He is a dedicated and compassionate GP who aims to build strong therapeutic relationships with his patients in order to provide comprehensive care. He believes in understanding the whole person, not just their symptoms, to help them achieve their best possible health outcomes.
Patrick has a particular interest in sexual health, reproductive medicine, and weight management. He is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all patients, especially those in the LGBTIQA+ community. He is also highly experienced in supporting expectant parents throughout their pregnancy journey.
Areas of Focus:

He is interested in managing sexual health, contraception (including Implanon insertion and removal), and menopause management.
LGBTIQA+ Health: Dr. Tai is recognised by ACON as an LGBTIQA+ friendly doctor, and has completed his HIV S100 Prescriber training. He encourages routine STI screening, and prescribes both HIV PrEP and HIV treatment. He will also be undertaking Hepatitis B treatment training in early 2026.
Weight Management: He has a special interest helping manage patients with obesity.
Dr. Tai is an Adult ADHD Continuation Prescriber for adult patients already diagnosed with ADHD by a Psychiatrist.
Additionally, he is also a Senior Medical Educator and examiner for the RACGP, demonstrating his commitment to the highest standards of medical practice.
Patrick is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
